Starting from Bitcoin Block 873,144, each Zeus Epoch spans 4,444 Bitcoin blocks — approximately 30 days.

Bringing Bitcoin liquidity is only the first step of the mission.

The long-anticipated Zeus Network initiated ZeusNode and Zeus Program Library (ZPL), which started the genesis Zeus Epoch on December 5th, 2024, marking the beginning of the era of permissionless Bitcoin.

To secure the asset and maximize its utilization, an ecosystem with permissionless cross-chain assets is being built on Solana to welcome 1% of the total supply of BTC into the network.

Milestones Achieved

During its first Epoch, Zeus Network reached several major milestones across infrastructure, ecosystem tools, applications, and assets.

𐓷 The First Guardian: Zeus Foundation

Zeus Foundation launched as the first Guardian, utilizing Multi-Party Computation (MPC) cryptography to validate transactions across Bitcoin and Solana. Within 17 minutes, the first $ZEUS delegation of 500,000 was fully subscribed, establishing a network capacity of 25 BTC.

Future Guardian capacity will scale to 5M $ZEUS with unlimited $BTC, further expanding the network.

𐓷 The First Bitcoin Transaction Validated by SVM

ZeusNode, in conjunction with ZPL, successfully validated the first Bitcoin-to-Solana transaction using the BitcoinSPV program, which we can proudly say, Zeus Network has replicated and synchronized a Bitcoin blockchain on Solana.

This milestone signifies Zeus Network is now “Running bitcoin on solana, echoing Hal Finney’s historic 2009 tweet, as highlighted by Dean Little, Co-founder & Chief Scientist of Zeus Network.

𐓷ZeusScan: The On-chain Bitcoin Proof of Reserve

ZeusScan serves as a transparency explorer, showcasing all interactions between Bitcoin and Solana.

As an on-chain proof of reserve, it provides real-time visibility into BTC and zBTC transactions, ensuring 1:1 asset backing. ZeusScan went live to monitor network volume and unique addresses while enabling full transparency of cross-chain operations.

Zeus Ecosystem

During Epoch 1, Zeus Network demonstrated its robust capabilities by successfully validating and securing Bitcoin liquidity, paving the way for APOLLO to reach a defining achievement: the launch of zBTC, establishing the first-ever permissionless Bitcoin on Solana’s mainnet.

These milestones launched the Zeus Ecosystem, marking the beginning of a new cross-chain era.

𐓷 Genesis zBTC Minted + APOLLO Mainnet v1

Bitcoin, acting as digital gold for liquidity, has arrived on Solana through APOLLO — the first dApp built on ZPL. This platform transforms Bitcoin’s liquidity into zBTC, the flagship ZPL-asset.

As zBTC on Solana, Bitcoin maintains its core properties while gaining new utility. It keeps a 1:1 on-chain peg with Bitcoin, while APOLLO uses ZPL’s 2-way-peg program to ensure transparent transactions and asset tracking across both blockchains.

𐓷 25 BTC on Solana = 25 zBTC Minted

The foundation is set and liquidity is flowing. Early in Epoch 2, APOLLO reached its initial capacity of 25 $BTC. The network achieved this milestone with 25 BTC locked on Bitcoin and 25 zBTC minted on Solana through APOLLO.

𐓷 APOLLO Public Mainnet Launching

APOLLO is currently in its liquidity foundation phase, accessible only to whitelisted users. Once liquidity is stabilized and security thoroughly tested, APOLLO will open to the public, enabling seamless management of Bitcoin assets across Bitcoin and Solana.

Upcoming Milestones
Network

𐓷 Onboard: New Guardians & Institutional Guardian

To enhance network security and increase Bitcoin capacity on Solana, we are currently onboarding additional Guardians. In addition to regular Guardians, an Institutional Guardian — requiring 500 $BTC and 5M $ZEUS for initiation — will join in upcoming Epochs.

Ecosystem

𐓷 Unlock: New Possibilities on ZPL

𐓷 Exploring: Beyond Bitcoin & Solana

Zeus Network’s core mission is to build a thriving ecosystem that enables permissionless liquidity for decentralized applications on Solana. The upcoming open-source release of ZPL will encourage more dApps like APOLLO to build on the network.

Beyond Bitcoin and Solana, the team has begun work on other UTXO-based assets, including Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE), which are planned for early 2025.

Conclusion

Building a secure infrastructure for Bitcoin liquidity on Solana required a year of dedicated effort from cryptographers, infrastructure architects, industry professionals, and, of course, the Zeus Team.

Now, we have not only successfully opened the gateway for native Bitcoin to fulfill its true purpose but have also established a new standard for cross-chain interoperability through groundbreaking technical innovation.

“2025 is our year, where we fulfill more promises along with our roadmap and bring billions of dollars liquidity through @ZeusNetworkHQ

— Justin Wang (Co-founder & CEO) on X

Plans are underway to onboard additional Guardians, increase $ZEUS delegation capacity, and boost Bitcoin liquidity on Solana. When ZPL becomes open-source in Q1 2025, it will spark the development of new applications that build upon APOLLO’s success.

We are just getting started, Olympians.
