Muses roamed the earth, whispering inspiration to poets, musicians, and artists. Through their divine guidance, Zeus gifted humanity with the power to dream, create, and transcend the ordinary, leaving an everlasting legacy of beauty and wisdom.

Summary

The Muses Upgrade of Zeus Network is expecting the most important piece — the APOLLO Testnet #3 — in less than 1 week. On the way to pose Solana to become the universal layer for Bitcoin and other blockchains, APOLLO is the first dApp to open the gateway of this unprecedented mission in the history of Web3.

The development continues to focus on Zeus Node and APOLLO Testnet #3. We anticipate launching the testnet as scheduled.

Non-tech: Recapping recent highlights

While the Zeus Dev Team is tasked with activating the Zeus Network and integrating Bitcoin into Solana, the Zeus Growth Team prioritizes ‘Connection’. They first set out to establish ties with the largest Bitcoin community in Hong Kong, followed by the coolest Web3 community, the Olympians.

𐓷 Zeus Network at Hong Kong Bitcoin Week

The trip to Hong Kong is essential for Zeus Network to form connections within the Bitcoin ecosystem. We’ve participated in Bitcoin DevCon, Bitcoin Asia, Ordinals Asia, and numerous side events.

With Bitcoin experiencing its highest traffic in recent years, it’s worthwhile to examine the status of other Bitcoin assets. Even if Ordinals or Runes are considered dormant, they are actually in their early stages, trying to identify the right strategy and user base.

Could Solana, with its quick and inexpensive user experience, be a market fit for inscription and memecoin? This is a question that Zeus Network is exploring with partners in both the Bitcoin and Solana ecosystems.

Stay tuned for upcoming Twitter Spaces with Bitcoin ecosystem partners.

𐓷 Discord Community Call

It’s always a delight to engage with the Olympians! Since launching $ZEUS, our team has been actively developing products, establishing partnerships, and forming the Zeus Working Group (ZWG). We’re excited to announce that we’ve selected a few dedicated members to join the Olympus Council and Ambassadors. Their role will be to help our community grow from its roots — the Olympians. If you’re interested in being part of the ZWG, simply stay active and showcase your talent!

Technical Update #3

The idea behind “Bitcoin to Solana” revolves around the Zeus Node, which facilitates bridgeless communication. Constructing a permissionless communication layer poses a considerable challenge. However, it’s an essential step in shifting Web3 applications from a centralized model to a more decentralized one. This objective forms the core mission of the Zeus Network.

In the Technical Update #3 of Muses Upgrade, we’ll discuss the crucial role of the Zeus Node and the development progress of the APOLLO Testnet #3.

Blockchain envisions a decentralized world where individuals can control their assets without censorship. Currently, we use centralized bridges for cross-chain asset management. These bridges transfer assets from one blockchain to another in a centralized manner, potentially compromising the security and integrity of the bridge and risking asset loss and trust.

Zeus Network is paving the way for a “Bridgeless” future that allows for direct communication between blockchains. Instead of moving assets from one place to another, Zeus Network keeps your assets secure on the original blockchain while providing corresponding assets on the destination blockchain. This can only be possible with Zeus Node securing the network.

The initial use case for Zeus Node involves APOLLO converting $BTC from the Bitcoin blockchain into a two-way pegged $zBTC on Solana at a 1:1 ratio.

Through enabling nodes, Zeus Network offers a trustless solution for liquidity to flow from various blockchains into the Solana ecosystem.

Zeus Node: A Trustless Verification Process

The Zeus Network’s verification process operates on a decentralized, permissionless group model, requiring staking of $ZEUS to become a Zeus Node.

To begin the decentralized verification process, Zeus Foundation will initiate the first Zeus Node and switch from singleton mode to notary mode. This shift will gradually guide the network toward decentralization.

A notary within a Zeus Node refers to a trusted entity that performs critical verification and signing tasks to ensure the integrity and authenticity of cross-chain transactions.

How it works?

  1. Selected Operators: Run a Zeus Node.
  2. Register as a new Zeus Node: Use the Registry Program in the ZPL.
  3. Invoke the registration: The Registry Program then invokes the Staking Program to create a vault.
  4. Staking process: Anyone can stake $ZEUS into the Staking Program to become a staker.
  5. Notify Zeus Nodes: The Staking Program informs the newly registered Zeus Nodes. Once the staking requirement is met, the Zeus Nodes become operational.

Work-in-progress

FAQs

𐓷 Who will be the notary nodes?

  • Trusted operators: Such as asset custody providers, VC, foundations, protocols, etc.

𐓷 Who will be the stakers?

  • Stakers: Those who stake $ZEUS and are qualified can become nodes.

𐓷 Can we trust the nodes?

  • Financial Slashing: If a node is found to be acting maliciously or fails to properly verify and sign transactions, its staked collateral can be slashed. This serves as a financial penalty and a deterrent against misconduct.

There’s less than one week until the APOLLO Testnet #3 goes live. This will be the final testing period before Bitcoin is enabled on Solana for the first time in history.
